CORT Atelier Laboratory has dedicated 14 years of independent research to developing CORT™ (Controlled Oxygen Reaction Technology).
CORT™ is an advanced reaction engineering-based technology platform designed to study and precisely control oxidative processes involved in hair lightening and permanent color systems.
Moving beyond conventional ingredient-based formulation approaches, CORT™ focuses on understanding and optimizing reaction kinetics, material behavior, reaction environments, and molecular interactions to explore new possibilities in hair chemistry.
CORT Atelier Laboratory was founded by Jun Lee, Head of R&D, who brings over 20 years of experience in chemistry- and physics-based research and development, professional salon testing, and beauty industry product innovation.
With expertise in chemical analysis and physical property evaluation, Jun Lee has led the development of advanced hair care and hair color technologies, including formulation design, stability validation, and performance evaluation.
By combining scientific research principles with extensive real-world salon experience, he focuses on creating high-performance hair solutions that deliver proven efficacy, stability, usability, and practical application in professional environments.
His research approach integrates chemical reaction mechanisms, physical characteristics of materials, reaction kinetics, formulation stability, and real-world performance validation to develop differentiated hair technologies.
Throughout this research journey, one fundamental question continued to drive innovation:
"If oxidative reactions could be controlled with greater precision, how far could the possibilities of hair chemistry be expanded?"
This question became the foundation of CORT™.
Rather than pursuing a traditional patent-based approach, CORT™ has been developed and protected as a trade secret, built upon years of accumulated research data, technical expertise, and proprietary knowledge.
The performance of hair chemistry is not determined solely by the ingredients used.
CORT™ approaches hair science through a reaction engineering perspective, studying chemical reaction mechanisms, reaction kinetics, oxidation pathways, material transport behavior, and reaction environment control.
While many existing hair technologies focus on protection and improvement after structural stress occurs, CORT™ focuses on understanding and managing the oxidative process itself.
Our goal is not simply to address damage after it happens, but to develop technologies that enable more precise control over the reaction process from the beginning.
CORT Atelier Laboratory operates as a technology-driven R&D platform rather than a conventional product manufacturer.
Our proprietary technologies are designed to be integrated into partner brands' product development processes, delivering differentiated performance through the final products experienced by consumers.
We research the invisible technologies that make exceptional products possible.
